My Personal Self-Care Tips!

Taking care of yourself is so important. It’s a form of self-love that I think everyone should experience regularly.

I have found that when you set aside time to yourself, your more at peace and ready to handle everyday stress. I’ve been trying to make sure that I at least set aside each Sunday to dedicate to regrouping and getting ready for the upcoming week. Over that amount of time, I have come to have my own tips and tricks regard self care and self love.

I know not everyone can set aside a lot of time for themselves due to school, work, etc; but hopefully these tips can help inspire you to adjust little forms of self-care into your life.

1. Invest In a Skin Care Routine!

After a long, tough day sometimes just washing my face and putting on a face mask just makes me feel so much better. There is something about skin care that I find so relaxing. I just kinda zone out and focus on putting on my products that I almost forget about any stress or problems that may have been bothering me. It’s a nice 20 minutes break from the world.

2. Get Rid Of Toxic People

This seems like a no brainier, but for most people this is harder than it looks. In my experience, it’s hard to break a bad habit but its one of the most important self-care tips there are. I had to purge ( not literally) a huge group of friends and after a while I started to feel so much better. When you start becoming as picky as you are with clothes with friendships, life is easier.

3. Get a Hobby

This one is kinda weird but I swear it works. Your life shouldn’t just be about friends, family, and school. All of those things are great and wonderful, but you do need to have time to just do something for fun. This could be by yourself or with a friend. For me, this is either painting or writing.

4. Stop Forcing People To Be In Your Life

It’s such a waste of time. As someone who used to try to force people into their life, biggest waste of my time to date. If they want to be there, they would. Plus, nobody deserves friends who don’t want to be there.

5. Organize

Organize your desk, room, etc. This is such a dumb tip, but it does help to have a cleaner environment.

6. Take Care of Your Mental Health

Whatever that means to you, do it. Mental health is different for everyone and because of that finding help can also mean different things. I don’t want to speak for anyone but I think it’s important to always strive for the best mental health you can get. For some that can be therapy or finding better coping mechanisms. Whatever it is, find it.

Six seems like a good number to end on. I hope this was helpful. If you have any more tips you could comment below or tweet me.
